oldmineroad_t.jpg (2328 bytes) Map of the "Old Mine Road" That Marinus' sons traveled from Kingston to the Minnisink area on the Deleware River. This was an old trail used by the Indians long before the visitors came from Europe to get from the Hudson River to the Deleware River. The D-H Canal was built along the road in the early 1800's and now is the path of Route 209. Many of our ancestors traveled this route in the early 16th century to get to the New Jersy area and West.

This is a picture from the History of Sullivan County of a train wreck of the O&W train between Livingston Manor and Roscoe. When blown up it looks very much like my Grandfather Wiley Lacey. He was a fisherman and fished the Willowemoc close to where the wreck was.

Herbert Van Aken - My Grandfather from unknown location but may be at John Finn's house in Mt. Vernon.
