VAN AKEN/VAN AUKEN REUNION
September 29,30, October 1
About the Van Aken/Van Auken Reunions: Our reunions have always been an opportunity to meet new cousins in an informal setting, to come together with more immediate family members who have been separated by time and distance, and to share photographs, family Bibles, stories, traditions, and other memorabilia that pertain to the family and/or to the family history.
The National Van Aken/Van Auken Reunions. In 1988 the first National Van Aken/Van Auken Family Reunion was held in Kingston, NY where our immigrant ancestors, Marinus and Pieternelle Van Aken first lived in America. Our second National Reunion was held in 1998 in the Tri-State area (DeerPark/ Port Jervis NY) where the sons of Marinus and Pieternelle emigrated in the early 1700’s. These reunions have been the offshoot of the Van Aken/ Van Auken Newsletter, which began publishing in 1984.
The Marinus-Pieter-Petrus-Jeremiah-Peter-Henry-Helmus H.Van Auken Branch Reunions: Started in 1984 in Holland, MI as a reunion of the descendants of Howard and Mabel Van Auken by granddaughter, Nancy Dodson, the Branch reunion now includes descendants reaching back an additional generation. Since 1990 Mark and Judy Van Auken have organized these annual reunions in several areas of the United States including Elmira, NY; Branson, MO; Virginia Beach, VA; Rhinebeck, NY; Niagara Falls, CN and other locations. Although billed as a branch reunion, all members of the Van Aken/Van Auken family are welcome.
The 2000 Cleveland Van Aken/Van Auken Reunion. We are looking forward to this joint Van Aken/Van Auken reunion with the same plans and goals in mind…an informal gathering of new and old cousins and having a great time together. Please join us!
